Would you know what to do if you were attacked? You can learn in the library's Woman's Self-Defense Seminar. The program will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 11 am to 2 pm. The seminar is open to all women ages 16 and older. The fee is $25. Join us in the DeLuca Community Room at the library. The program on Tanya Nicole Kach, a local girl from McKeesport who was abducted and held as a prisoner for more than 10 years was to be at the library last night, February 19. Due to inclement weather, the program was cancelled. It has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 16th at 7 pm in the Community Room. Author Lawrence Fisher will be here to discuss his New York Times Bestseller: "Memoir of a Mild Carton Kid, the Tanya Nicole Kach Story". Ms. Kach is planning to be here as well. Join Educate Us Productions and actor Gregory Gibson Kenney as he becomes Pittsburgh Pirate slugger Wilver "Willie" Stargell. Join Willie from his early years in Alameda, California to his incredible twenty-one year career with the Pirates. Willie is remembered as a leader, the captain of the team, and is known affectionately as POPS. The program will be on Monday, February 20th at 6:30. Signup for the Zumba Classes that started in January. The six classes are to be registered with Gwen Tucker, instructor, at 412-277-1677. Zumba basic and toning and hula hoop. Call Gwen for dates and prices. There are no drop-in sessions. You are to sign up for the entire six classes. You have a choice of Wednesdays at 6 pm or Saturdays at 9 am.

Penn Hills Writers' Group meets the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We start each
session with a ten to fifteen minute free write based on a prompt. Then those who have brought work to share pass out
copies, read it to the group, and receive feedback. Most members are working toward publication at some point in the
future, and some members have been published already.
We welcome writers at all stages of their writing journey. Please feel free to contact us at gossamer@earthling.net.
Art Group of Penn Hills
The Art Group of Penn Hills meets every Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm at the William E. Anderson Library of Penn Hills.

The Thursday Evening Book Club meets at the library at 7 pm on the third Thursday of the month. Books are chosen in advance so that everyone has a chance to read them over the month. The Mother-Daughter Book Club is for young ladies and their mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts and other interested guardians or friends. Join the club for good books, great conversation and even a few good snacks. The books selected for discussion are appropriate for young ladies ages 10 - 14. "The Changing Hills" is a new Penn Hills history book written by Gary Rogers and Jane Hawkins. It is now available at the Wm. E. Anderson Library of Penn Hills. Don't throw your used ink cartridges away - give them to the library! Money from the cartridges helps fund the library, and the recycling helps our environment too. The box is located in the adult department for your donation.

Help the library by selecting a magazine from our collection and donating the cost of its subscription to the library. If you wish, we will put a bookplate on the cover of the magazine to let others know you are underwriting this subscription. The cost of magazines is going up, and our funds are being cut. We don't want to stop getting your favorite magazine. Please speak to a staff member about "adopting a magazine".

The library is again offering the Seniors For Safe Driving, a driver improvement program for mature operators 55 and over. This is a driver awareness and
behavior modification program; there is NO on the road driving or classroom testing. The class is at the Library. The dates are April 11, September 5 and
November 28. Class time is 9 am to 1 pm. Call 800-559-4880 to register or register online at SFSD-PA.COM. Tuition is due prior to class date.
