Children's Programs
Kids Chess Group!
The library is offering time for practice, play and learning for chess enthusiasts. Adults are welcome! The group gets together every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 6:30 pm. This session ends in July until the fall. There is also a chess class on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 1 pm in July and August. On Saturdays, there will be a class at 10:30 am. There is no registration, just come and have fun. Instructors will be there to help in honing chess skills. Fun! Stress Free! Challenging!
Craft Program
There will be a craft program on August 11th! Please register in advance.
Ceramics Classes
There will be ceramics classes on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. The classes are for grades 1 - 8. Please register in advance in the Children's Department or call 412/795-3507 ext. 115.
Summer Reading Programs
Summer Reading Programs begin in June. The younger children have the Book Bug Club. Children must be at least 3 years old. The Book Bug Club is from June 1st - July 24th. Read 20 books to your child (ages 3 to first grade in August). Turn in a list of the 20 titles and a drawing of one of the books. Registration in advance is required. Older children have the Make A Splash Club. This program is for children who will be in grades 2 - 7 in September. The children are to read 5 books on their reading level. Use the handout from the library to keep a reading log. Make A Splash runs from June 21 to July 24. Turn your reading log in to the library by July 24th. STORYTIMES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED UNTIL AUGUST.
